LASTIGLAS MUNKADUR:

LASTIGLAS/MUNKADUR is a chemical-resistant epoxy tank lining, based on a 100% solids, two-component epoxy, capable of being applied in a one-coat, high-build application.

LASTIGLAS/MUNKADUR cures to a smooth, glass-like finish averaging 20 mils in thickness.  

The LASTIGLAS/MUNKADUR system provides unsurpassed acid and alkali resistance in a wide range of applications.

Among many products protected by LASTIGLAS/MUNKADUR are beer and wine, malt and spent grain, single-strength fruit juices and concentrates, single-strength tomato juices and concentrates, corn sugar syrup, soy and teriyaki sauces, and potable water to name a few.

Advantages Of LASTIGLAS MUNKADUR

Solventless :
Comprised of 100% solids, there is no solvent which might migrate, imparting odors affecting taste of the product stored. Consequently, there is no shrinkage through curing. The elimination of solvent also means no fire hazard.

Self-Curing :
The necessity to apply heat in order to achieve curing is eliminated. As a two-component system, our LASTIGLAS/MUNKADUR will cure within 14 days at 50 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. Under certain circumstances, however, the MUNKADUR can be force-cured within an eight-hour period.

Heavy Film Thickness :
Averaging 20 mils. (dry film thickness) ensures increased abrasive resistance due to the heavier mass. Durability is enhanced and a longer service life is anticipated in comparison with traditional baked thin film linings.

Ease Of Cleaning :
The dense, glass-like finish permits excellent release qualities of the product stored. Automatic clean-in-place systems seem to operate more effectively (i.e., reducing tartrate and beerstone buildup. The LASTIGLAS/MUNKADUR lining is also in use in aseptic food storage systems where sterility is an absolute necessity.

One Coat Application :
Labor is significantly reduced because of a one-coat application system. Traditional lining materials were applied in four to five coats, making the process very labor intensive. Consequently, tanks can now be relined and equipment back in production within a shorter time frame, reducing overall costs.

Energy Saving :
As a self-curing material, natural gas or bottled gas are no longer needed in order to achieve cure.

Composition Materials :
LASTIGLAS/MUNKADUR is a two-part component epoxy resin system which provides superior chemical and corrosion resistance.

Color :
The color of the LASTIGLAS/MUNKADUR is gray. When exposed to ultraviolet or oxidizing materials, sometimes the color will change, but this will not affect other performance characteristics.
