LABORATORY SURFACE EVALUATION PROVES LASTIGLAS-MUNKADUR™ SMOOTHER THAN
STAINLESS STEEL.
LASTIGLAS-MUNKADUR™, our two-component, air-dried, self-curing lining, has
been proven by independent laboratory tests to have a smoother surface
than carbon or stainless steel.
LASTIGLAS-MUNKADUR™ superior lining offers you the advantages of easier
cleaning and sterilization, resistance to contamination and corrosion, and
elimination of steam cleaning. Not surprising when you consider ENERFAB is
the industry leader in protective linings.
At the request of ENERFAB, Metcut Research Laboratories conducted a
comparative surface analysis and evaluation of different samples of
stainless and carbon plate steel. One sample was coated with
LASTIGLAS-MUNKADUR™. Evaluation of the sample’s surface texture included
determination of surface finish using a Bendix profilometer, along with
macro and microscopic documentation of the surface topography.
The comparison of surface features was performed on small sections removed
from the samples. These sections were metallographically prepared for
optimum edge retention. Photomicrographs were taken at 100x and 500x
magnifications. Surface photographs were taken at 15x magnification. These
photographs and descriptions are shown on the reverse side. All tests were
conducted by thomas DiLullo, Chief Metallographer, and approved by Luciano
Gatto, Manager of Metallography & Failure Analysis, Metcut Laboratories,
Cincinnati, Ohio.
